The Obscure Lore Of Among Us Among us is one of the most popular game ever made. Standard playing is 10 crewmates although some lobbies are up to 15. When it's 10, it's often 2 impostors trying to kill the crewmates. Crewmate's goal is to ous the imposter. After the imposter kills someone, their body is left for someone to discover. Either a crewmate or an impostor reports, which sums all players to conference table for a meeting. From then, the players must discuss about where they have been, prove innocence or point blames. Someone can be ejected by the end of the meeting. It's a bit like a video game version of the movie " The Thing ". The characters are the crewmates and it's just their colours who are different. They have different jobs but are functionally all the same. They have stubby feet and Rayman hands. If you happen to have a job, your options are engineer who can veent around, something only imposters can do. Guardian angel, you can be but only after death and it protects fellow player. Scientists have portable vitals of every player, making sure they are alive. Noise maker who releases a noise upon death, signaling the direction of the body. A tracker can track players. Imposters have been infected with a parasite that takes over the body of the crewmate. The 2 possible roles for an imposter are shapeshifter where they can turn into different colors and names to trick crewmates or you can be a phantom where you can temporarily be invisible and run away. The crewmates work for a company called Mira. It's unknown what they really do at the company. Definitly some sort of research. They traval from planet to planet and collect datas and other informations. They also likely collect informations about the perasite that causes the imposters. It's unknown where the parasite comes from but the crewmates seem to take it everywhere they go. Mira calls these very tall buildings home. It's called Mirror HQ. Here they upload all their data and information in mirror HQ. They have a decontamination hallway probably to prevent the imposter's parasite in the leftmose area of the map. There is a small little transport pod that brings them to most of their places. One of the places is the Skeld, a large spaceship constantly flying through the space. Abroard the skeld there is multiple places to download informations. It's unclear what information. There is a room for communications so they might picking up various signals. There is also an area for shooting down asteroids or it could be potentially be used for shooting down enemies although that has yet to be seen. The spaceship is mainly used for transportation from planet to planet. It's not sure where the ship goes when it's time to land. They send down the dropship but does the Skeld stay in the air? Speaking of planets there are 2 we surely know about : polus and fungle. We know crewmates to to planets to study life, geology and they mine. They are also probably looking for a new place to call home and become free of the imposters although that's likely very hard to do. We can speculate that the crewmates picked up an impostor somewhere in space and they invaded the Skeld because the impostor parasite wasn't originally in Mirror HQ or Polus. Polus is a planet with purple grounds, cold climates but a very hot core with a lava river near the surface. The crewmates have set up for a few different buildings on Polus, most of which have similar functions to rooms on the Skeld. There is reactors, communications, a greenhouse and most importantly a decontamination place. It's not clear they try to get rid the parasite off of this planet. We can assume the decontaminaition area was built later than the other buildings on this planet because when they first arrived on Polus, the parasite was not an issue. However, Polus ends up being uninhabitable possible due to multiple reasons but the impostor parasite is most likely. They begin searching for another planet. The new planet or at least island they found was called the fungle which is overrun with mushrooms. It seems like they weren't able to do much research on it prior to flying over it because as soon as they got close to the island, the mushrooms quickly spread within the Skeld and started destroying it from within even though they hadn't landed it. Luckily the crewmates made it to the dropship and launched it. The Skeld unfortunatly blew up in the sky and the debris falled down to the island. When the dropship landed, it was destroyed as well. They can use the debris to make some makeshift walls and bases and have somewhat salvaged some of the equipment and have now made their communication area. Their lives are looking rather bleak on this island. To make it worse they still have to deal with the impostor parasite but now their methods are a bit more primitive. They use a con shell to sound the alarm now and whoever is voted out is no longer ejected in the vacuum of space but is now giving a viking funeral type send off. They put him on a raft and set it a blaze. Then there is the Airship map but we are not sure where does it fit in the timeline. It's owned by a crime syndicate called the Toppat which is from a different game made by the same company of Among us. The game is Henry Stickman. This is a very large location where the crewmates do do their typical tasks and have to fight off the impostors. It's likely that the crew abroad the Skeld that crashed is just a small portion of Mira. The reason we know of more crewmates going to the Airship is because they are just another section of Mira.

Game Theory: Among Us Lore, You Will ALWAYS Lose! This is a game where you canonically lose your best interrogation skills, your mastery of 900 IQ strats, you are sussing out the most sus suspects all for nothing. Officially it's said that it's about astronauts attempting to hold the spaceship together and return to the civilization but one of the astronauts had been replaced with a parasitic shapeshifter; The parasitic explanations takes care of why impostors are able to fit into the vents while the normal crewmates aren't. As for crewmates we can assume they are humans, that their biology is similar to our.s given they require oxygen to breathe, have heart rates that we see on monitors, blood types like we do. They also have vending machines full of soft drinks like mountain dew and electronics made by Simsung, a reference to Samsung. However they are apparently 3 foot 6 inches tall or 1 m 06 tall and they weight. They weight almost 92 pounds or 41,7 kg each based on the info we get from medbay scan. What if it takes place into a future where astronauts have been specifically bred for this or are weeded out by size. When you travel in deep space not long and cramped trip, meaning every bit of space will be important and the more you will be able to get out of the food and other resources that you pack, the better it's gonna be for everyone on board. Larger people would require more food which are proportional to mass. Also the idea of someone being replaced by an alien is old in science fiction. Think of classics like the " invasion of the body snatchers " from 1956. " It came from outer space " in 1953. Or " The thing from another world " in 1951. But the most obvious reference is the 1980s movie " The thing ". It's set on Antarctica where the Americans on a base are in terrupted by a helicopter shooting at a sled dog. The team rescues the dog only to learn that the man piloting the helicopter was the sole surviving member of a norwegian space team. They uncovered an alien spacecraft buried deep in the ice for over 100 000 years. It unleashed a deadly parasite capable of consuming any biological entity and copying its DNA to become a perfect replica. So the sole survivor tries to kill the dog, believing he is the alien. He ain't wrong. The dog is the alien. Even the debate they got in the movie feel like among us meetings. They even kill innocents in the process.

Game Theory: Among Us, This ELITE 500 IQ Impostor Strategy Will NEVER Lose! When you start a meeting with 7 players, you should probably skip voting. If you vote someone out, you end up down to 6 and the 2 impostors have an advantage as a double kill can ensure the win for them. It's difficult to avoid the double killing trap even if you know it's coming. However keep in mind that an impostor could use that rule to try and delay a vote if people are onto their scent. Also most of the time killing and self reporting is mostly considered as noob move because it's often done by someone inexperienced who killed in a place that was risky in the first place. Which mean since most intermediate or advance players know that, sometimes it can be smart of oyu to self report if you are prepared to start a meeting with a lie that is immediatly deflecting suspicion. Sometimes with good and experienced players the smart way is doing the unexpected by doing the thing no smart or experienced players would think to do. It's reverse psychology. Impostors can fake tasks but in some cases, task being done fill the team's meter bar but a fake task doesn't. Either avoid faking tasks when you are an impostor with experienced players. Or if you do faking tasks try to time it so you walk away right after the task meter goes up due to someone somewhere else on the station completing a different task. That wait until the progress bar goes up before walking away so you can pretend it was you. It's going to work only if you are performing a long task. Faking tasks too much eat time away from you that you can use more productively. Your ability to use camera and admin panel are real. Admin panel gives you a bird's eye view of who is in what section of the map. It can make you identify who is traveling in large group and who is isolated. You can also use it to team up for a double kill. It's also useful to known which station doesn't have anyone in it in order to be able to come with a fake alibi in case it's needed. In 2006 a psychological study by researchers in Santa Barbara found that when it's asked to judge lies or truth, test subjects guessed correctly 54% of the time. Study by other researchers at the University of Missouri in Colombia showed that people who think they are good at spotting liars are non average no better than the rest of us. At the end of a meeting if someone's vote contradicts their statement, their statements are lies. Sometimes an impostor might vote in the very last to see in which direction the wind is blowing before casting their own vote. Impostor will often join the mob when it's obvious their teammate has been caught by the group. The earlier someone votes to get rid of the impostor, the more likely it's that they are innocent. As an impostor you want to kill in places and at times that are hard to catch. If the camera is flashing red, someone is watching from the security. Let's say you are a crew member, you are on camera spotting someone who looks like about to kill someone but waiting for the red light to disappear. Sometimes you can bait impostors by getting off cameras just a few seconds then hopping back on. When playing in Skeld it's extra risky to kill in cafeteria or storage since they have 3 entrances. Also avoid high traffic hallways like the Y central connector in the Mira HQ map. Think about rooms that are getting used for people to access to other parts of the station. if you play in Polus, killing in places like laboratory, specimen room, admin is risky. Often time the best kill is the one you acn get away with regardless of who it is. Stalking one specific player can be a giveaway. Also as long as a suspicious crew is alive, that deflects suspicion off of you and your partner. It's better to target people that are cleared or known to be innocent like someone who was seen doing a visual task.

Game Theory: Among Us, The 300 IQ Impostor Strategy That Wins EVERY TIME Because there will always be more crewmates than impostors, impostors need to treat their lives as more valuable than those of the crew members. Crew members should be looking for opportunities where they can trade their lives for impostor lives and impostors should avoid that. It might be tempting to counter accuse every time as an impostor, crew knows that one of them is impostor. Instead on early round it's better to cast a lie that doesn't put the blame on the one accusing. It might not work but it's your best chance of surviving the next round except if it's near the end and you just need let's say 1 more killing to win. As a crewmate don't look suspicious obviously. This is a reason why you should rather travel in groups, not mainly for safety but for information. Considering impostors can double kill, it might be better to traval in a group of 3 rather than travelling in a group of 4. Focus on the facts before speculation. False accusations have short term benefits for impostor but it's better focusing on the smaller more suble way that you can steer the conversation away from discovering who the real killer is. If someone starts rambling, don't interrupt them. Then you have room to accuse them by claiming that their rambling might be a tactic to waste time. Ask questions that seem legitimate questions but don't reveal useful informations. It makes you look like you contribute to the team while you are burning team, adding more and more useless information. After the kill, hang out with other crew members, preferably a group that's not near the body. Don't kill anyone else or wander away. When the body is discovered, you have some people who can vouch in your favor. If you can't kill isolated person, try a stack kill in a way no one can see who did it. The sabotage function has a cooldown so the question is which sabotage is better. I think leaving everyone in the dark is one of the best way. It limits visibility so it limits information. The impostor isn't affected by that meanwhile. Sabotaging lights also make it harder for the crew to see each other, meaning that n ot only it's easier for you to escape the crime scene undetected, but it's harder to give each other alibis. You are placing suspicions on all the rest of the players while placing less on yourself.

Game Theory: Among Us, Red Is SUS!

In a game that's all about avoiding detection and not raising suspicion, hearing the words red is sus is practically a red sentence. Humans are designed to make snap judgements based on immediate appearances, it's essentially a leftover survival instinct. It something looks dangerous it's best to avoid tit for survival. First factors we process is the color. Color psychology is study of how colors affect human mood and behavior. Studies showed that white pills are associated often with pain relief and red pills are associated with stronger stimulant properties. Studies shown that red can prompt people to react with greater speed. Something as simple as color can affect performance on a test. When college students were given one of the 2 colors, green, red and black. then asked to take a simple test, those with the red numbers scored 20% lower than those presented with either the green or black numbers. On the other end of the spectrum colors like blue have shown themselves to have a calming effect on people. Some studies even showed that looking at the color blue releases endorphins that help you physically calm down. In Among Us, one of the most sussed colors is yellow. Our eyes use 2 different types of photoreceptors, rods and cones. The rods are for vision at low levels of light. Cones meanwhile are the ones dealing with color. There are 3 different types of cones each one with sensitivity to a different color range. Because 2 of the 3 have reasonably high sensitivities in the green range. Humans are able to process more shades of green than any other color. But not all greens are created equally. Our eyes work best at the light wavelenght of 555 nanometers. That means that under normal lighting conditions, our eyes are more sensitive to a yellowish green color. During an emergency meeting in among us if you are either green or yellow, you will be the one that your crewmate eyes are naturally drawn towards.

Throughout human history, yellow has been associated with feelings of deceit and betrayal. In the 500 AD when post classical art period was taking shape, artists were working hard to recreate scenes from the Bible. However the Bible isn't very descriptive about what people were wearing. So artists had to make choices and one trend that stuck is that they dressed Judas Iscariot, the disciple who betrayed Jesus and caused his crucifixion, in yellow. People tended since to associate yellow with liards and treators. In 16th century Spain for example they literally dressed those accused of heresy in yellow capes. As for green, at first glance it looks like green and guilt should go hand to hand. After all it's the go to color used by animation companies to show evil magic. Maleficient in Sleeping Beauty, Rasputin in Anastasia, Ursula in The Little Mermaid and Bruno's fortune telling in Encanto. It's color associated with treacherous villains, strange potions toicity. That said, any negative connotation of the color are far outweighted by its natural sense. Green is not a creative color but a relaxing one. In a 2020 study, 39% of people said that green made them feel relaexd and content. It's primal instinct. Our bodies want to be in nature. We are programmed to eat green plants because green means health and vibrancy. It means safety. As such we are naturally inclined to trust green things more than any other colors. So green is good and yellow is sus. In 2020 some researchers from University College London asked over 400 people to pick a color from a color generation website that they associated with feelings of guilt. Number 2 came in as black. And number 1 was red. Black is naturally paired with dark emotions like sadness, depression and fear. It also feels dark and shadowy as if you are trying to purposely hide something.

A study of what car colors tend to get into more car accidents showed that the riskiest cars to drive is a black car because its darker colors make it blend in more with the surrounding area. So in an emergency meeting despite the negative connotations, if you keep silent, you could be fine. If someone brings your name, be careful and play humble. Black is considered to give impressions of high authority and dominance. Think about black belts in martial arts or the black diamonds on ski slopes. Both show a level of mastery and skill. It's why villains tend to wear black. It's same for judges. It puts them into a position of power and authority. Which is why lawyers tend to recommend that their clients do not wear black to court because it doesn't give people the imperssion that you are innocent or willing to listen. Instead it makes you look powerful, aggressive and in those contexts, guilty. Something you want to avoid in an emergency meeting. As for red, in addition to be highly associated with guilt like black and being a bright visible color like yellow, red is the color of danger and warnings. Red can also cause your heart rises to rise and your blood pressure to increase. Then there is the psychological phenomenon called the recency effect. It's about how humans remember the most recent information they are presented with best. A Harvard University study showed that approximately 4 pieces of information can be held in short term memory at a given time. This is because most information in short term memory only lasts between 15 and 30 seconds. Meaning that people will tend to rely more heavily on the last few things they ysaw when making a decision. In Among Us the emergency button and the animation it creates use the color red which immediatly gets people thinking about that color in a negative and suspicious light. The final nail in the coffin is the psychological effect of priming.

Priming is when you expose the brain to something which then influences how you react to something else. In Among Us, red is front and center in the game's artwork. He is the icon for the game on twitter. He is the first color people think of when they think of characters from this game. Not only he is the most prominent, he is also the most likely to be visualized as the impostor in all the marketing. There are tee shirt with red having an impostor shadow or holding a knife. The official Among Us VR page on Steam has red standing over a dead crewmate telling us to keep our mouths shut. Everything is wiring your brain to connect the idea of red and impostor. So when you are impostor and trying to win, it's better to not be red, yellow or black. If you are an experienced player who wants to be involved in the emergency meetings, not only the color blue releases relaxation endorphins into the brain, it's also the color that science shows is the most closely associated with trustworthiness. However one other solution is to stay out of the minds of your fellow players. In 2021 the game updated 6 more colors in the roster : marron, rose, coral, gray, tan and banana. Any of these could be a choice because their strenght is the opposite of red's weakness. They are also played less than any of the primary colors. In 2021 Innersloth released statistics about most played colors. Red, black, white are top 3.. Gray, marron, brown and tan were in the bottom with tan standing last. Pastels are softed colors and they evoke as such softer emotions. They are light and delicate. They are the supports rathre than the leads. Tan for example is a lighter version of brown and gives a sense of dependability and stability and in design used more a background colors. It's unssuming which is perfect if you want to fly under the radars. Gray is also a good choice. It's also a pale color but unlike banana and tan it doesn't evoke feelings of anything really.

Gray is just blank of blank canvases. The maps also lean heavily into grays as a color choice which makes sense since it's a lot of machinery, spaceships, space stations, things made out of gray metals. This is not a color noticed a lot, just like in real life. Gray cars are behind the black cars the second least likely to be noticed on the road because they blend in with their surroundings. So the newer, lighter colors like tan, gray and banana seem the best choices if you don't want to be noticed. Blue is a strong secondary choice if you want to be a more active player. The meme red is sus is a self fulfilling prophecy. It's also science and psychology.
