The game features a character moded after General George Armstrong Custa who fought in several wars against native americans. The game's objective is really simple. The player controls a pixel related Custa depicted with an exaggerated penis as he attempts to cross a field under arrow attack to reach a naked Native American women tied to a pole. Once you reach the pole, you smash the action button as fast as you can. The better you smash, the more points you earn, with the game restarting after getting 50 points. The game is simple and repetitive and was part of a series of adult themed games released by the company which sought to exploit the video game industry for sensationalized adult content. The development of custer revenges did not any significant or technological gameplay innovations. Instead, it relied solely on its shocking content to generate sales and publicity. As custer's revenge faced legal challenges, protests and calls for its ban. Though the game's designer Joel Miller Custer was seducingthe maiden and that she was a willing participant, Stuart Kon, president of American multiplie industries, the company who published the game stated that their objective was not to arouse but to entertain.

Hatred - Released on October 2014, the teaser trailer for hatred was anything but ordinary. It betrayed the game's main character expressing their distain for humanity, gearing up to embark on what they called their genocidal crusade. You play as the antagonist, a disturbed man completly desillusioned with the world and with humanity. Fueled by hatred, he embarks on a violent killing spree with only 1 goal : eradicate as many human lives as possible before he himself was taken down. The game play is uncompromisingly violent and the games takes place on an isometric point of view with the object of being pretty straightforward. navigate through various levels from the suburban neighborhoods to police stations and exterminate every living soul. Hailing from Poland, destructive creations was relatively new to the game scene when they launched hatred. In fact hatred was their debut title. The game was heavily inspired by the twin stick shooters from the arcade era but with an obvious and somewhat immature dark twist. The developers aimed to create a game that in their words, avoided politeness, colorfulness and any sort of philosophical undertones. They create a game that served as a reminder of the industry's past as a rebellious medium and purely surface level entertainment. The game in the trailer was designed to provoke. Jaroslaw Zielinski, the CEO of destructive creationsback then, expressed surprise at the scale of the reaction it received as he firmy believed that the game didn't cross any moral boundaries, asserting that those who disagreedcould just choose to not play. He stated that he invented hatred game to be a response to the trend of games becoming more politically correct as their true aim was to push boundaries. Among plauyers the game was divisive.

The game had relatively little impact other than the initial shock value. And some media called it one of the most violent game in history if not the most violent. His controversial nature led the game to be temporarily removed from steam althought accompanied with a personnal apology from Gabe Newell himself. It was later reinstated, citing an error in its removal. The game became the first to receive an adult only rating from ESRB, solely for its extreme violence. This made mainstream retail distribution in the USA nearly impossible as major console manufacturers prohibit adult only rated games on their platform. On June 1st 2015, the game was finally released to the public. Just before th game was released, twitch announced the ban of all adult only rated games, thereby prohibiting hatred game from being streaming online on their platform.

Postal - An extremely controversial game developed by running with scissors. Released in 1997, it's known for its dark theme and violence. It sparked debate and controversy especially in the context of the portrayal of mental illness and societal breakdown. The game follows the story of a character only known as the postal dude. He is the sole individual in this town that isn't affected by an airbone agent supposedly released by the US Air Force that he calls " the hate plague. " This leads him on a violent rampage through many locations including a ghetto, train station, trailer park, truck stop and eventually a school full of childrens. The narrative is presented through the postal's perspective accompanied by a voice in his head that taunts his victims and makes cryptic comments to him. Postal plays as an isometric shooters where the player navigates through different levels, engaging in gunfights against various enemies. The games primary objective is to kill a certain numbers of enemies in the area to progress. The game stands out for his lack of conventionnal narrative and structure; It's focusde on its protagonist's actions and mental state rather than just the traditionnal storyline which initially depitected the postal dude attempting a massacre in an elementary school only to find his weapons to be ineffective against the childrens as they all laugh at him. And his mental state deteriorates further, eventually finding himself restrained in a mental asylum as satanic and hellish images cover the scren. Most of the town urges him to join the mysterious order of the Harvest Moon based in the lodge which is a huge building within the town. It becomes Steve's main objective. Steve's exploration leads him to Stephanie who shares the same amnesia. They seek to uncover the truth. THe lodge becomes central and as he gains entry Steve is given a new task each day by the lodge, beginning with petty acts of vandalism quickly who escalate into theft and arsen with each task having unforeseen and tragic consequences, resulting usually into someone's accidental death or murder, even the suicide of a mother and her child. Meanwhile, Steve and Stephanie eventually become lovers. Steve gains entry to the lodge that he belives holds the answer and delves deeper into the building. He is forced to confront twisted moral lessons that invert into traditionnal values like how the lodge believes charity is futile and how you shouldn't respect the eldery as they are physically useless. As Steve reaches the top of the dreamlight lodge, the climax reveals the actual twist being that Harvest is a virtual reality simulation controlled by scientists from the 1990s aiming to transform average individuals into serial killers by desensitizing them to violence.

The game culminates into a moral choice for Steve. He can either murder Stéphanie and be brought back into the real world, either thereby embraces a life of violence. If you refuse to harm Stéphanie, you will face death in real world. This decision leads to drastically different endings. Choosing to kill Stéphanie results in the game showing a final cut scene where Steve is released into the real world but become a remorseless killer influenced by the experience in the simulation. Or by choosing to live a life with the fake world, Steve leaves a peaceful life within the simulation but is rendered brain dead in the reality. Obviously it spirred controversy for its graphic content, its dark themes and the exploration of societal and moral decay.

Charles Muntz in Up.

I don't think everyone truly appreciate the level of thought and consideration that went into the film. Carl Frederickson is an old man that lived a lonely life since his wife of many decades has died and he has no children or other family members to keep him company. Carl and his wife originally bonded over a mutual love of the Adventures of Charles Muntz, an explorer who was shunned after a bird skeleton he brought back to the United States was declared a forgery. Munte was called a fraud, stripped of his membership of the organization he worked for. He promised to bring the bird back from the jungles of Paradise Falls and swore he would never return until he did. Ellie, Carl's wife, hoped the 2 of them could one day go to the Paradise Falls. Coming back to the story and the main timeline, a construction company bought most of the land around Carl's house and constantly pesters him to sell the house so that they can build on his land. After Carl injures one of the construction workers he is committed to a retirement house. However he decides to pull of the most absurd schemes of all by putting enough ballons up his chimney so that it carry his house up in the air. While the house floats over the city, Carl realizes that a boyscout named Russell who was stuck under the Porch has been inadvertently carried up with him. Not long after landing Carl and Russell both find the bird that Charles Muntz has been chasing some 70 years ago by luring him with chocolate. Carl runs the bird off and eventually end up finding out that Charles is in fact still alive after decades of staying in the jungle and obsessively looking for the bird. At first Carl is grateful to meet his hero who he presumed to be dead. but it soon becomes clear that Charles lost his mind over the years and has resorted to murdering everyone who comes to the Paradise Falls to keep them from taking the bid away from him.
Carl and Russell narrowly escape Muntz while Muntez accidently jump to his doom when his foot is caught in the strings of Carl's house. When it comes to twist, there is the surprising one. It's sort of a twist to learn that Charles is even alive. The audience on the first viewing forgot that he was even a character. But still there was no reason to believe he went rogue at this point. Secondly, despite Charles Muntz not having a lot of screen time before being revealed that he was an actual villain, there were some hints towards his true intentions. First of all and more obviously, he is looking for the bird that Russell befriended and there was obviously going to have some sort of conflict around that. Secondly, Charles is presented obscured and shadow from the very start on his in person appearance in the film. So the few screentime he had was very well used. Finally there is the twist necessary for the plot to progress. Almost all the conflict is about Charles intentions so you can't really have much of a plot without him. If Charles wasn't in the movie it would have weaken the movie's overall message. Ultimatly, " Up " is a story about letting go of the past. Every single thread of this movie perfectly align with that message. Carl and Charles are not really that different. Each of them share an important trait. Outside the fact that they are both old, they both had the most important thing in the world to them taken away. For Carl, he lost his wife. He can't get over his obsession of carrying her memory with him. Ultimatly this drives him away from everyone else and leads him to an insane fixation on getting his house to Paradise Falls to fulfill his wife's dream. Charles also lost what he most carred about : his reputation. He went from being a celebrity beloved by the public to an outcast despised as a fraud. Likewise he drives everyone else away while he frantically searches for the bird in Paradise Falls unable to let go and live his life as normal.

Another thing they had in comon was that trying to fulfill their goal will certainly kill them. Carl can't take the house all the way to Paradise Falls because the house will either fall on top of him efore he gets here or he will be lost in the jungle forever as nature's obstacles keep him from his destination. Charles can't get the bird that he wants because it's in a maze that traps anyone who enter it and he literally goes to his grave trying to take it. Both Carl and Charles are the same name by the way. Carl is just the German word for Charles. They both mean free man. Because that's what they both need to do for themselves in order to keep them from taking their losses to the grave with them. Carl wears a soda cap on his shirt that Ellie gave him when they were kids to show that he carries the past in the very litteral sense. Charles does the same thing, wearing the Explorer's jacket from all the way back in the days when he was a member of Explorer Society. You can even see where the patch was ripped off. This is a fantastic way to show that audience that the characters only live in the past. But for both of them the sad truth is that when you live in the past, you live alone because everyone else has already moved on.

The Paradise Falls are a metaphor for the lonely space that people are put in who can't let go off emotional pain. That way they eventually, if they let themselves being consumed by bitterness and despair to the point that no one wants to be around them anymore. One last piece of connectivity between the 2 that put things into perspective is that when Carl becomes enraged at Russell for the last time before the final confrontation, he yells at him, saying that he will take his house into the Paradise Falls even if it kills him. Carl chased a dream that was long gone. Charles is a man who wasted all of his years of life trying to get the past back to the present. But it's impossible. The film message is nearly tied up with a nice bow in that. Russell was essentially set up to potentially be another link in the Charles and Carl chain. Russell also obviously lost something important to him. There was the potential for him to end up in the same way. Ultimatly, Carl himself breaks that chain by realizing that living in the present is the only way to prevent becoming like Charles was. And see that even though the thing that he treasured most is gone, there are other things to treasure in the present. And his friendship with Russell is one of those things to be treasured in the present.

The movie has the perfect balance of saturated colors that still feel believable in a live action and a big reason of this if that it's vibrant like a kids movie should be but not to the point of cartoonishness. The only time the bright colors overpower the screen is when they are supposed to like over the top. Cinderella's stepsisters also have great contrast. On one hand the cheery, optimistic colors making up most of the movie, the joyful beginning for example has sunshine yellow as Ella plays with her mom. When Ella meets the prince it's in a lush green forest Ella stands out and her signature bright blue which is serene and approachable but the movie doesn't shy away from darkness. When her mother passes, the colors become desaturated, signifying grieg. When she learns of her father's death it's dark and stormy to reflect an intense moment of sorrow which makes her empathy for his work partner much more admirable. When she cries alone in the shadow doorway, this is heartbreaking. Then there is Lady Tremaine's blackmail scene, dominated by the dark colors and ominous candlelights that make it look sinister and cinematic. Other live action have dark scenes too but they are hard to see and tend to have this bizarre blue cast over them. And visually it still looks beautiful. You can shoot scenes without all of this blue. The overuse of blue is unromantic in the Aladdin live action movie. We barely see Aladdin and Jasmine. Compare that to Cinderella strolling through the gardens with the print. Cinderella is literally growing in the darkness.

About the sets. First we have the farmhouse. THis is charming and feels like straight out of a fairy tale. It's xovered with windy vines and windflowers on the outside, and on the inside all the walls are decorated with flowers or tree painting. In the beginning you can see the outside flowers being vibrant pink and this is the time when the house full of love. But then the Tremaine family arrives. The flowers are drabber, and the vines are browning. Cinderella's room is rustica nd vintage before the stepsisters overtake. Then the horney and comfortable fabrics turn to sleek and expensive satins btu you can see it still has her signature blue walls The attic is a drabn colorless and open space with barely any furniture. Cindeerella visually stands out as she instantly brightens the space. This room would be typically so depressive but Cinderella is optimistic and is grateful because it's peaceful which emphasizes her good natured spirits. The original silver carriage is cool but this one is on a whole other level of magic. The carriage was designed to look like a jewel. It's fully functioning and can be pulled by 4 horses, you still have the pumpkin shape in line. But it also encompasses glass elements of the greenhouse And out of all the remakes, the castle is the best castle. The production designer Dante Ferretti referenced the Baroque period and iconic french architecture from the Louvre and the Palace of Versailles. It's grand, ornate and majestic. It's not just the ballroom but everything, whatever it's the hallway, the king's chamber, the secret garden, even the painters room which is charming.

China Airlines Flight 006 - From Engine Failure to Ocean Plunge
Less than 500 km from Los Angeles, disaster strikes China Airlines Flight 006. Minor issues, starting with the failure of the fourth engine, rapidly escalate into a full-blown crisis. The plane stalls and hurtles towards the Pacific Ocean. It's a 747. The plane drops 10 kilometers in 2 minutes. The planes tears apart as it spirals towards the sea. February 19th 1985, a China Airlines flight cruises across the Pacific to Los Angeles at 12 000 meters of altitude. 2 men are in charge of the plane. The main crew gets several hours off in the middle of the trip so they are rested for the landing. The cockpit crew consisted of Captain Min-Yuan Ho, age 55; First Officer Ju-Yue Chang, age 53; Flight Engineer Kuo-Pin Wei, age 55; Relief Captain Chien-Yuan Liao, age 53; and Relief Flight Engineer Shih-Lung Su, age 41. The captain had approximately 15,500 flight hours, including 3,748 hours on the Boeing 747. The first officer had more than 7,700 hours with 4,553 of them on the Boeing 747, and the flight engineer had approximately 15,500 hours of flight time, including 4,363 hours on the Boeing 747. The accident occurred while the main crew was on duty. Seksan Caniyo, a passenger, is celebrating his 30th birthday with his friend on board. Bill Peacock was another passenger. The autopilot is set to keep the plane flying at 470 km per hour. But with wind it's increasingly difficult to maintain the speed. For the crew the bumpy ride gets more worrying ad engine 4 gives weak thrust Flight engineer throttles up the engine but it doesn't respond. Caniyo in the cabin started to notice. The engine 4 then stops working completly. Not a complete surprise because at pre flight briefing the captain was told that a repair crew had worked on engine 4 before the flight. The engine still wasn't working. Without the engine 4, the plane slows down. Oakland center is contacted by the pilots. In such altitude, there is not much oxygen so the chances of a successfull relight are slim.
As the crew tries to restart the engine, the plane slowly begins to roll to the right. As the plane keeps turning and slow down, it's in danger of stalling. Captain tries to push the plane's nose down to increase the speed. But the jet is banking more and more steeply. First time the captain takes manual control of the plane he struggles with control but the plane has veered into thick clouds. He can't see the horizon as he tries to keep the jet level. Just minutes after the fourth engine stopped working, China Airlines stalls and begins to fall from the sky. It's out of control and hurtling towards the ocean. Stewards, all the people not having their seat belt on were flying, as well as objects. Struggling against the plane's wild motion, the flight engineer tries to restart the fourth engine. Flight engineer is pinned to the control piedestal because of the G force. Stumbling through the clouds, the 747 finally starts to pull out of its nosedive As G force change, passengers are pressed through the floor, feeling 5 times their normal weight. The jet is dropping but not as fast then. As flight slows down, the flight engineer desperatly reaches the throttles but the engines don't respond. After tumblign 3 000 feet in 30 seconds, the jet plunges again into another freeform. Once again the passengers feel pulled again the nose of the plan. As the plane spins towards the ocean, the airspeed increases rapidly. 6 separate calls from Air Traffic control go unanswered. The stress of the dive tears the landing gear doors off the plane. In 1 minute the plane drops 6 kilometers With no visible horizon lilne, the captain doesn't know which way is up. After plunging thousands of meters the plane breaks free from clouds and ocean is being finally seen. The captain has only 30 seconds before his crippled plane smashes into the ocean. For the first time the captain can now use the horizon line as a reference. He tries to pull the plane out of its dive.
Then the passengers are pressed against their seat by another dramatic change of direction. As the plane finally begins to level, the altitude indicators returns to normal. As mysteriously as the incident began, the engines regain power, the 1, 2 and 3. Once again the flight engineer tries to reignite the fourth engine and this time it works. The plane is saved. They popped out of the clouds at 11 000 feet and by 9 500 feet they had the plane stabilized. Brian Campbell takes control of the flight from the air tower control. Plane is cleared to climb to 10 500 meters but a new problem arises. The landing gear is down. Hydraulic fluid in system 1 was empty. 1 passenger suffered serious injuries and 2 other dozens have cuts and bruises. Rear elevators which help to control the altitude don't seem to be working. Without them, landing is extremely difficult. The captain has to land mostly by reducing power on its engines. It's a controller fall towards the runway. The pilots still maanged to execute a perfect landing. Parts of the entire tail at the end were ripped off. Enormous chunks of the tail are missing, either torn off by the stress of the dive or crushed when the landing gear doors broke loose. If the damage was more severe the crew wouldn't have be able to regain control of the aircraft. National Transportation Safety Board arrived for investigation.

China Airlines Flight 611's Mid Air Crack | Mayday: Air Disaster
Investigators uncover the shocking cause of China Airlines Flight 611's midair breakup over the Taiwan Strait. Discover how hidden damage, improper repairs, and metal fatigue led to this tragic Boeing 747 disaster and what it revealed about aviation safety. From the sea, 639 pieces. When investigators added the 640th piece of the plane, the investigators managed to solve the mystery. This piece was scrutinized more than the other. Investigators knew why this jet with 225 people on board shattered in mid air. On February 7th, 1980. On May 25th 2002, China Airlines flight 611 lifts off Taipei, Taiwan's capital. China Airlines is Taiwan's national airline. 1 hour and 40 minutes to go to Hong Kong, one of the most widely traveled route on the planet. It makes so much money it's called the golden route. 20 minutes after taking off at over 35 000 feet, disaster stuck. From Taipei's tower control, the flight vanishes from radar. One of the largest rescue missions in Taiwan's history is launched. More than a thousand people take part in. Fishing boats, coast guards and Taiwan's military. The plane was 55 km from the Taiwanese shore just north Penghu islands when it disappeared. Debris floating are found, , including alnding gear wheels, napkins, knives, forks. Wreckage from the plane is spread far and wide. Some items are foud on land more than 100 kilometers away in central Taiwan. Taiwan's Aviation Safety Council begins its investigation into the crash of the 22 years old plane.Managing director of the ASC, Kay Yong, led the investigation. China Airlines had a poor safety record. At that time it was considered as one of the worst in the world. It typically had 1 major accident every 4 years
NTSB joins investigation. A team is dispatched in Taiwan, led by John Delisi in Washington. Pieces found are bought to Penghu islands. Sophisticated ground based radartracked flight 611 throughout its short journey. It should provide investigators with a much clearer picture of the flight than the radar at air traffic control. It appeared as if there were 3 or 4 sizable pieces of wreckage that were getting radar returns that then began to drift and scatter as they fell to the Earth. Among the theories, one saying that the plane was shot down. China and Taiwan have a combative relationship. Some suspected that China shot the flight down. 8 months earlier a Siberia Airlines flight with 78 people on board was shot down over the Black Sea, hit by a missile accidentally fired from Ukraine during a training exercice. On the day of China Airlines crash, China was conducting military exercices in the Taiwan strait but officials insist that no missiles were launched towards flight 611. None of the wreckage recovered so far as any of the telltale sign of being hit. No evidence on radar that there was a missile heading for flight 611. There were no other object near the flight. Another theory was a bomb theory. So medical examinations checked for potential burns on the bodies recovered, or shrapnel. They found nothing. The plane's metal skinned would be curled and turned in a very particular way if there was a bomb on board. Investigators found no such damage on any of the pieces. Clint Crookshanks is a structural engineer who knows the 747 very well. Taiwan's civil aeronautics authority doesn't take any chance and they ground all of China Airlines 74700 series planes until they can be inspected for mechanical problems, putting more pressure on investigators to find out what happened.
