"Qui sera, demain, à la tête de l’Espagne? Le conservateur Alberto Nunez Feijoo allié à l’extrême droite, comme le prédisent les sondages? Ou le socialiste sortant, Pedro Sanchez, soutenu par la gauche radicale et par des partis indépendantistes, qui croit encore pouvoir créer la surprise? En même temps qu’un chef de gouvernement, les quelque 37 millions d’Espagnols appelés à renouveler le Congrès des députés et le Sénat lors des élections générales de ce dimanche choisiront un bloc pour les diriger. Car au terme d’un big bang de son système de partis, l’Espagne est passée en dix ans du bipartisme au «bibloquisme».

Aux deux formations nationales, le Parti socialiste (PSOE) et le Parti populaire (PP, droite), qui régnaient quasiment sans partage, sont venus s’ajouter Podemos (gauche radicale), Ciudadanos (libéraux) et Vox (extrême droite). La disparition de Ciudadanos et l’absorption de Podemos par la nouvelle plateforme Sumar achèvent de restructurer la politique espagnole en deux camps incapables de s’entendre. Tout n’était pas joué à la veille du scrutin. Mais il est acquis que le prochain chef du gouvernement ne pourra gouverner sans négocier avec les autres formations de son orbite idéologique."
