1 : The size of China's manufacturing industry. China's manufacturing industry is currently 10 times bigger than India's manufacturing. At the end of 2022, China manufacture ring amounted of 5 trillions of dollars while India's manufacturing amounted to 450 billions of dollars. This mean that if we move 10% of China's manufacturing capability, It will double India'as capacity. According to the World Bank statistics, India's manufacturing was 230 billions dollars in 2009 and it took the Indian government 13 years to double the capacity to its current rate. So even if India'as manufacturing grow twice as fast as before It would take siw to seven years for India to steal 10% of China's manufacturing.
2 : India has negleted manufacturing. India has focused too much on software and IT services over the last 3 decades. India has negleted facturing right now. India's share of global manufacturing is less than 3 % and more than 30%. Both China and India have grown their manufacturing outputs. China's share of global manufacturing was only 8,7 % in 2004 but surpassed 30% in 2022. India's manufacturing has been stagnant over the 2 last decades with little growth. China's dominance is clear. Even India's home manufacturers have fallen over the years. In smartphones for example, 90% of the Indian market is captured by foreign brands, vast majority being chinese brands such as Xiaomi, Vivo, Realme and Oppo. Indian brands are only found in the sub 100 market and household appliance like washing machines. Once again foreigners have more than 80% of Indian market share. In cars foreign brands and joint ventures have a 75% share of the market. Half of all cars in India are actually Japanese.

3 : China dominate traditionnal manufacturing. While western medias are keep publishing headlines that say that China is going to collapse and that the future of China is in Jeopardy, one thing we must remember is that dominantly, China maintain traditionnal manufacturing. For example if we examine current steel and cement production to industries that are vital for the future economic growth, China dominate the world steel market manufacturing. First, 10 times more than India who is the world's second largest producer. In addition, China lead in cement production, producing 8 times as much as India who once again is the world's second largest producer.

4 : China's share of global exports. China's success in manufacturing brought up the first thing many people say it's because of cheap labor. However, wages in China has increased significantly the past 2 decades and yet China continues to dominate numerous sectors. Earlier in 2023, China became the world number 1 the automobile exporter and dominate many industries that will become vital to the future of the world including electric vehicles, electric batteries, solar panels, renewable energy and artificial intelligence. However even in low tech products, China continues to dominate. 35% of the clothes are made in China. More than 50% of furniture and toys are manufactured in China. And the footwear and travel goods are reliant on China with over 65% and 70% of production respectivly.

5 : The Chinese ecosystem. The one reason why China will keep dominating the manufacturing is their eco system. China doesn't just manufacture products at a cheaper price. China control the entire supply chain and manages every step of the entire process. A good example is the textile industry. The textile industry start with agriculture. Specifically with growing and harvesting cotton. And China is the world's largest producer. Notice how India is number é and quite close to China production. However when we study this chart for cotton yield, we can see that China has a competitive advantage and does more with less as China uses one fourth as much land as India. China achieved this by investing in the best technologies. Western medias will tell that China use slaves labors to harvest cotton from the Xinjiang region. But the reality is that cotton farmers in China have bought the most advanced cotton harvesting tractors from American company John Deere. The Xinjiang region in China produce over 20% of cotton in the world. It plays a crucial role in China's textile industry. China also has additionnal factories that supply the dyes buttonzippers and all the fabric needed to produce any type of textile in the world such Master of supply chain is the secret behind China's.
In fact, wages have grown astronomically over the last 2 decades. A whooping Sevenfold increase since 2004. During this period, China's share of manufacturing has also increased since 2004.China has steadily increased his manufacturing first surpassing Japan in 2007 and then the US and Europe a few years later. China's lead is now almost impossible for anyone else to overtake. Of course wages cannot rise forever without affecting manufacturies. Many Chinese manufactories are now voluntarily offshoring some labor intensives jobs in Vietnam, mexico, Thailand to also take advantage of lwoer wages. Also as China gets wealthier many youg people no longer risk to work in factories but India is 10 or 15 years behind China's anufacturing. While they have put a lot of efforts, they are still far behind. When Modi got elected for the first time in India in 2014, there was a big campaign called " Made in India ". However, if we examine India's GPD components, the manufacturing had almost no growth these last 30 years.

6 : India need Chinese material to manufacture. The problem is that India's manufacturing is often restricted to low end assemblies apple's operations in India is a great example of what's happening on the surface. iPhone manufacturing in India has risen significantly over the past 2 years. But there is a catch. Most Apple's operations in India are known as FATP Final Assembly Test and Pack. A labor intensive process performed with components that are flown in directly from China. Thus, the value added India's manufacturing is very small. Meroever, the Indian government is adding huge subsidies to the foreign corporations and is loosing money in the process. The assembly cost for a company like Foxconn 4% of the price of a smartphone. While the Indian government subsidy is 6% this is a huge corporate welfare system that's not sustainable or or scalable in the long term. India's dependance on China is also immense in the pharmaceutical sector, a vital sector in India's economy. 75% of the raw material needed to make pharmaceutical drugs are imported from China. A final example is the electric battery. Indian firm Tata makes electric cars but relies on batteries and crucial EV components once again directly from China. Thus, it's no wonder that India's trade deficit with China was nearly 100 billions dollars last year and keep rising. India's imports from China have nearly tripled over the last decade.

7 : India's infrastructures problems. The problem with India is the lack of infrastructure. India severly lags behind China and even others developing Asian countries like Vietnam and Thailand. In basic things such as electircity, roads, highways, railways and seaports, India's and China's population is nearly identical. But China is able to produce 4 times more electricity than India without plentiful cheap and consistent electricity. How factories In India operate even in Bangladore, the Sillicon Valley of India, there are numerous power outages every day. Then, there are problems related to transportation which affect the entire supply chain, logistics and manufacturing. Indian roads are quite bad within the cities and there are only 4 000 kilometers of proper expressways. Compare that to the over 170 000 kilometers of expressways in China. In addition, freight trains in China traval at an average speed of 25 kilometers per hour. Tremendous amout of productivity Tremendous amout of productivity is lost in India simply because of bad transportation.

8 : Indian's burreaucracy. Charles Munger once famously said : " It's very hard to get anything done in India ". He was focus on the democratic process as people can protest and stop the progress of any important project but there is even more insane burreaucracy. Getting a striple payment account in the United States, the whole process take about 15 minutes. All you need is your social security number, your bank account details. However, in India the process can take up to 4 months. As the Indian government requires an endless number of meetings and paperwork to complete the process, India 's tax system is even more complex. It's no wonder why these inefficiencies have led to thousands of foreign companies quitting India over the last decade.

9 : India's labor issues. While India has a huge reservoir u=of huge people, there are numerous problems with the labor force. First, the labor force participation rate among women is only 25%. Thus depriving the economy of a vast number of workers. Secon, the education is quite bad in rural areas where over 900 millions of Indians live. Thus a steggering 29% of the workforce only has the equivalent of a ninth grade education. UNICEF estimates that there will be over 300 millions of high schools graduates by 2030. But only half of them will have employable skills.

10 : Technology and R and D. India need to invest a lot of money in science, research, and manufacturing specific technologies. Now all the start ups in India are focusing on software and services when it comes to parents, India actually ranks quite low. And it's no surprise that China leads the world. India also need to attract FDI from foreign companies like China once did. Rather than corporate welfare to foreign companies, the goal should be to make the market attractive so that foreign companies would eagerly set up factories in India. But csidering the problems India has it's unlikely that they will do so. Manufacturing is also undergoing a radical transformation and we officially entered the fourth industrial revolution, which is powered by robots, artificial intelligence and 5 and 6G. Considering that China buys almost half of all industrial robots in the world, it once again is building a substancial lead over India and all others countries. And the ability to manufacture at scale and the most efficient way possible. In conclusion, India is not going to threaten China's dominance over manufacturing before a long time.

Reasons India will not take US side although it’s not in China’s side either,
US supporting Khalistan.
US supporting regime change in Bangladesh.
US pressuring India for every other changes in their own policies. Like Russian sanctions
US doesn’t like Modi as he is a patriot who is a tough nut to crack.
US wants India to be in a constant turmoil so that it remains dependent on imports.
US wants to control India and doesn’t want to be on equal terms in Indian Ocean region.
US has always been supporting Pakistan from the back door.
US wants regime change as it happened in Bangladesh so that it will be easy to control the greedy congress leaders who always welcome money.
Inside the Asia Times about why India shifts from US to China there is this written : " The first and second terms of Modi's government have marked one of worst decades in India's history in regard to internatinoal relations. " "During this period, India has incurred unprecedented opprtunity costs while experimenting with international and geopolitical strategies. In this third term, Modi is looking to reverse the course by shifting from the US to China. " When Modi became the prime Minsiter of India, the US government sold to Modi the idea that India's economy would grow exponentially by adopting a trade relationship similar to the one the US had with China. High ranked US officials recently asserted that many high profile american companies would relocate their factories from China to India. On paper it seems perfect because the US wants nothing more but to decouple US companies from China and relocate them to India. To further up the initiative, Modi appointed S. Jaishankar as Minister of External Affairs who is an agressive China hawk, hoping that his pro american stance would help attract the US investments and technology. It never happened and to this day in 2024, the US investments remains minimal. We often hear that India will replace China or that in the next decades or years, It will become the next China, replace China as the world's factory. But the truth is that in term of quality infrastructure and supply chain, China is far ahead. Amrrican companies like Ford, Harley Davidson and General Motors all exited the Indian marked during this period, Foxcoon, the waiwanees company manufacturing iPhones in China would be reducing its footprint in China, and start manufacturing iPhones in India. But once again,t he data shows clearly why the majotiry of the iPhones are still made in China.
And It will remain the same for the years to come. Around 50% of the iPhones assembled in India did not pass the quality control standards. Once again this resulted into more US companies shifting away from India. Instead of following CHina's footsteps, India saw another opportunity for development and groth in 2022. In the past 3 years, India has surged to become Europe's top fuel supplier. At the start of 2022, India's fuel imports from Russia was almost 0. It increased over time to the point that India in 2023 imported over 2 millions of barrels of Russian oil per day. The UE stopped buying Russian gas and oil after the war in Ukraine. However, almost the entire EU economy depended on cheap oil and gas from Russia and without it, it makes european industries less competitive. India as the most populated country in the world was once again pressurized by the US to align with the USA and NATO and to condemn Russia. But to this day, India remained neutral and saw an opportunity to purchase Russian fuel as bargain price. Funny thing is that the EU still buy Russian oil and gas. They are just using India as an intermediary.
