Europe is facing a fourth-quarter jet fuel deficit as the US-Israel war on Iran disrupts global supplies, cutting off nearly half of Europes jet fuel imports, Reuters reports.
France is running out of fuel. 16.5% of Frances stations nationwide are now out of petrol or diesel, one in six, with 20% of stations short in Grand Est, 17% in Pays de la Loire, 16% in Occitanie, and 16% in Centre-Val de Loire, per government figures published this morning.
The IEA Oil Market Report for September 2026 shows global observed oil inventories plunging another 95 million barrels in August alone, taking the cumulative draw since the Iran war began in February to a staggering 507 million barrels at an average pace of 2.8 million barrels per day. If the current draw trend of roughly three million barrels per day holds without resolution, European product stocks especially diesel and jet fuel could approach operational floors and trigger localized physical shortages within the coming weeks to a few months, potentially by late autumn or early winter 2026 as winter demand adds further pressure.
